Topograph blends my two passions – the outdoors, and 3D Artistry.

Everyone on the team loves some form of nature sports – hiking, long-distance cycling, trail running, Ultra Marathons. We also love art, and wanted to create unique pieces to commemorate some of our favourite events.

The topograph concept was seeded in November 2024, when I had no idea what to buy my wife for Christmas. I spent a good number of hours designing a topograhical map of our favourite part of the country – Dorset – and secretly pulled the Strava GPX file of her recent Ultra Marathon to overlay on it. The results were great, and a number of friends requested one for themselves.

And so Topograph was born.

The concept is simple – but the execution comes from years of 3D designing. As an engineer of over 25 years, with a passion for art and outdoor sports, I pivoted my experience into something I really love doing – and here we are.

Every piece I produce is a one-off, personally designed for you. I don’t order from a remote factory and then put my stamp on it: I design and produce everything here in the UK. My pieces are built in eco-friendly biodegradable material derived from cornstarch, framed in wood, and sent to you in recyclable packaging. I even produce my own packing material from waste cardboard. The end result is a beautiful art piece delivered to your door, which you can enjoy for ever.

To order a Topograph, head over to our store where you will see an example of the style and colour – order it, upload your GPX file and give us the suggested wording for the plaque (for example, your name, the race, and your finish time). We take it from there – and while we have a style we think works, no two pieces are the same. We will design the map to fit your GPX file, and to pick out the most interesting landscape features – as an example, in our gallery you can see the iconic Poole Harbour in the Dorset races we’ve done.

From receipt of the information, we aim to have a framed map back to you within 2 weeks.
